July Tree Trimming Project

Finally catching a break from the weather, a VPF Still Serving team, led by USMC Veteran Jonathan B., was able to trim a large magnolia tree that was serving as an overpass for squirrels and rats into this Korean War era veterans’ home in McClellanville, SC.

Congressman Joe Cunningham’s office reached out to the Still Serving team with this project after receiving a request to his office from a constituent.

July Hope to Home Furniture Delivery

Following some time off due to the coronavirus pandemic, on July 11 the Still Serving Team, led by USAF Veteran Jack M., resumed work with Hope to Home. A team of our volunteers delivered furniture to five individuals who previously experienced homelessness to each of their respective homes in the downtown Charleston area.

March Fisher House Project

In early March, the Still Serving Leadership Committee volunteered with the Fisher House, a nonprofit that houses veterans’ families who are receiving treatment at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. The team used the Fisher House Kitchen to cook dinner for the residents. The white bean, chicken and beef chili was a big hit!

February Hope to Home Project

In February, veterans from the VPF Still Serving team volunteered with Hope to Home. Our team of volunteers assisted with moving furniture donated by a local Mt. Pleasant hotel to the Hope to Home Furniture Warehouse. The donations will later be used to furnish homes for individuals who are transitioning out of homelessness.
